Napping grizzly bear waiting for fish

grizzly bear sleeping in Alaska

This female grizzly bear started sleeping right next to the river once the salmon started arriving.  She was ready to start fishing with her front row seat.  Fishing usually isn’t successful for bears until low tide which happens twice a day.  Some bears just set up camp by the river, fishing and gorging during low tide, and sleeping at high tide with their full bellies.
