Some bays on the coast of Katmai National Park are surrounded by steep, sheer mountains carpeted in summer greens. Low cloud cover often spills over the mountain peeks like a waterfall of steam.

A male and female grizzly bear cuddle during mating season. These bears were paling around together for the afternoon, cuddling, grazing and walking together.

A grizzly bear strolls by where we are sitting in Katmai National Park. This bear was walking up and down the shoreline scanning for fish. Where we are sitting is actually the sea floor which becomes exposed during Alaska’s extreme low tides. The photo is a good example of how the bears in Katmai National Park go about their business pretty much ignoring any humans.
